Lead paragraph

Whitby's Pathway to Net-Zero Buildings Feasibility Study will prepare the Town for the next phase of its ongoing energy management and climate mitigation initiatives. The Town of Whitby has selected seven (7) of its largest GHG emitters to perform a deep energy review and develop a strategy for each location.

Description

The study will include mechanical equipment and all building systems as it relates to energy conservation. A review of the building systems will be completed with recommendations for upgrades to align with the Town’s Zero Carbon Whitby Framework and Costing Study. Energy modeling of each facility will be conducted to create a base line along with the modeling of each energy design scenario.

The buildings identified for inclusion in the study are those which emit the greatest amount of GHG emissions across the Town of Whitby’s building portfolio, and together account for roughly 54% of the Towns building emissions.
